Getting There

  • Car

    If driving from Nicosia, head southwest on the A1 motorway. Continue for approximately 25 km until you reach the exit for the E91 road towards Troodos. Follow the E91 for about 13 km. You will see signs for The Machairas National Forest Park. Turn left at the sign and continue on the park road which leads directly into the park entrance. Parking is available at the entrance. There is no entry fee.

    To reach The Machairas National Forest Park using public transportation, take a bus from Nicosia to Larnaca (Bus No. 425) and get off at the Troodos Square stop. From there, you will need to take a taxi to the park entrance, which is approximately 10 km away. The taxi fare should be around €15-€20. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for return trips. Alternatively, take a bus from Nicosia to Lazanias. Buses run regularly, but check the local schedule for exact timings. Once you arrive in Lazanias, you may need to walk approximately 1-2 km to the park entrance. The bus fare is around €2-€3.
