    Getting There

    Walking

    From the center of Pano Platres, follow the main road towards the Troodos Mountains. Look for signs indicating the Caledonian Waterfall. The walk is approximately 2 km and mostly uphill, taking around 30-40 minutes. The path is well-marked. Alternatively, for a shorter walk (about 20 minutes), start from Aedonion road near the trout farm. No costs involved.

    Public Transport

    From Limassol, take bus number 62 towards Pano Platres. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Alight at the Pano Platres bus stop. From there, you can either walk to the waterfall (approximately 2 km, uphill) or take a taxi. Bus fare from Limassol to Pano Platres is approximately €4. A taxi from Pano Platres to the waterfall entrance will cost approximately €10-€15. Confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.

    Driving

    From Limassol, driving to Platres will take around 45 minutes. From Pano Platres, follow signs towards the Troodos Mountains. The waterfall is located approximately 2 km north of the village. Drive along the main road, and look for signs indicating the Caledonian Waterfall or 'Psilo Dendro' (Tall Tree). Parking is available near the waterfall. Parking fees, if any, are typically minimal.

    Wear comfortable hiking shoes, as the trails can be rocky and slippery, especially after rain.

This natural gem, one of the highest waterfalls on the island, gracefully cascades down from a height of 12 meters, offering a cool and picturesque escape. The waterfall's name has Scottish origins. In 1878, a group of Scottish explorers visited the area and were struck by its resemblance to the landscapes of their native Scotland, historically known as Caledonia. The surrounding area is covered in lush forest and native wild flowers. There are a few options to reach the waterfall. The popular route involves a scenic 3km hiking trail that starts near the Psilo Dendro trout farm and takes you through the forest. The trail follows the Kryos Potamos stream, crossing it several times via small bridges, and offers stunning views. The hike can be slightly challenging due to the rocky terrain and some uphill sections. For a shorter and easier access, there's a 20-minute walk from Aedonion road, near the trout farm. Once at the waterfall, you can relax by the shaded freshwater pool and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. The sound of the cascading water and the surrounding greenery create a truly immersive natural experience.
