Nelion Winery: A Taste of Cypriot Tradition

Nelion Winery, founded in 1996 by the Ioannou family, is a boutique winery located near the village of Praitori, off the Paphos-Troodos road. The winery combines traditional Cypriot winemaking principles with modern design and technology to produce high-quality wines. The family cultivates its own vineyards in Paphos, growing several grape varieties and producing around 35,000 bottles annually. Visitors can take guided tours of the winery and vineyards, learning about the winemaking process from the crush pad to the barrel aging room. The tour includes a walk through the vineyards, where sustainable farming practices are explained. Wine tastings are offered, often accompanied by cheese and salami. The winery also operates a cozy coffee shop. Nelion Winery aims to provide excellent service, offering wine tastings to help customers choose wines that suit their taste. The winery is known for its interesting and local wines, such as Xinistery aged in acacia or oak barrels, low tannin Opthalmo, rare orange wine, and young sparkling wine from black Muscat. Nelion welcomes visitors for wine tastings seven days a week.
