Nicosia's Old City is easily navigable on foot. From Eleftheria Square, the main square just outside the walls, enter the Old City and follow Ledra Street, the main pedestrian thoroughfare. Explore the side streets and alleys branching off Ledra Street to discover hidden gems. Note that crossing into North Nicosia requires passing through the Ledra Street checkpoint with your passport.

The Nicosia Bus Company operates routes throughout the city, with many buses stopping near Solomos Square, a short walk from the Old City. From Solomos Square, walk towards Eleftheria Square and enter the Old City through one of the gates. A single bus fare is approximately €2.40. The Nicosia Municipality also runs free yellow buses within the Old City.
