Minia Kıbrıs: Cyprus in Miniature

Minia Kıbrıs, located in Tatlısu, North Cyprus, is a unique open-air museum displaying Cyprus's rich history and architectural wonders in miniature form. Inspired by Miniatürk in Istanbul, it features detailed replicas of iconic Cypriot buildings and monuments from Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman periods. Visitors can admire miniatures of landmarks such as Kyrenia Castle, Selimiye Mosque in Nicosia, and Apostolos Andreas Monastery. Each miniature is accompanied by informative plaques providing historical context. The museum is located next to the 11th-century Panayia Pergaminiotissa Church, adding to the historical ambiance. Although the church's frescoes have been mostly removed, its architecture and serene surroundings are worth seeing. Opened in July 2015, Minia Kıbrıs has become a popular attraction for locals and tourists. The museum continues to evolve with plans to add more miniatures in the future. Minia Kıbrıs not only showcases Cyprus's architectural heritage but also contributes to the local economy and tourism.
