Getting There

  • Car

    From Troodos Square, take the Troodos-Prodromos road (E910). After approximately 1.8 km, turn left at the crossroads. Continue for about 500 meters, and you will find the start of the trail and a small parking area on your left. Parking is free.

  • Public Transport

    Take a bus to Troodos Square. From Limassol, bus line 64 runs to Troodos. From Nicosia, bus line 408 also goes to Troodos. From Troodos Square, walk along the Troodos-Prodromos road (E910) for approximately 1.8 km. Turn left at the crossroads and continue for about 500 meters to reach the trail. Note that there may be a 2.2 km uphill walk from the bus stop to the Artemis Trail.

The Artemis Trail is a captivating 7km circular route that winds around Mount Olympus (also known as Chionistra), the highest peak in Cyprus. At an altitude of 1,850 meters, the trail provides panoramic views in every direction, showcasing the island's diverse landscapes. On clear days, you can see the coastline and the villages of Limassol, Paphos and Nicosia. Named after Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt and wilderness, the trail immerses you in the Troodos National Forest Park, a Natura 2000 area. The path meanders through a black pine forest, home to rare flora species and fascinating rock formations. Keep an eye out for two ancient black pine trees, estimated to be over 500 years old.
