From the bus stop in Amiantos, it is a short walk or taxi ride to the Botanical Garden.

    The Troodos Botanical Garden, officially named the Troodos Botanical Garden “A.G. Leventis,” offers a tranquil escape into the heart of Cyprus's natural beauty. Situated at an elevation of 1,400 meters near Pano Amiantos, the garden provides a refreshing mountain atmosphere. It's dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich botanical heritage of Cyprus, with a particular emphasis on the unique flora of the Troodos region. Established in 2004 by the Department of Forests, the garden occupies a portion of the former Amiantos asbestos mine, which ceased operations in 1988. This transformation highlights the potential for ecological restoration and serves as an educational example of land rehabilitation. The Anastasios G. Leventis Foundation contributed significantly to the garden's establishment. The garden is divided into thematic sections, including Endemic Plants, Riverine Vegetation, Arboretum, and Aromatic and Traditional Garden Plants. Visitors can explore the Visitor Center and Herbarium, view exhibits, and study plants through stereoscopes. The garden is part of the Natura 2000 network of protected areas and a member of the Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI). It aims to conserve and promote Cypriot botanical heritage, serving as a research, educational, and recreational platform.
