Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, use the E65 (D1) motorway. From Brno, head south on the D1 towards Prague. After approximately 40 km, take exit 194 towards Mikulov (E65). Continue on the E65 for about 30 km until you reach Mikulov. Once in the town, follow the signs to 'Zámek' (Castle) which is located at Zámek 1/4, 692 01 Mikulov. Parking is available near the castle, but may incur a fee, typically around CZK 50-100 per day.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Mikulov by public transport, take a train from Brno to Mikulov. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 1 hour. Check the schedule on the Czech Railways website for the latest times. Once you arrive at Mikulov train station, you can either walk (about 15-20 minutes) or take a taxi to the castle. Walking directions: Exit the train station, head west on the main road (Svatoborská) until you reach the town square, then follow the signs to the castle. The taxi ride should cost around CZK 200.

    Alternatively, you can take a bus from Brno to Mikulov. Buses depart from the Brno central bus station and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Look for the bus company 'Student Agency' or 'RegioJet' for service. Upon arrival at Mikulov bus station, the castle is a 20-minute walk. Exit the bus station, turn left onto the main road (Husova) and follow the signs to the castle, located at Zámek 1/4.
