    From Olomouc main train station ('Olomouc Hlavní Nádraží'), take tram line 1 (the blue tram) towards 'Nová Ulice'. Ride for about 10 stops until you reach 'Tržnice' stop. Transfer to bus line 15 towards 'Nemilany'. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the 'Radíkov' stop. Walk for about 10 minutes along 'Na Pevnůstce' street to Fort Radíkov. A single public transport ticket costs around 20 CZK.

    From the Olomouc Astronomical Clock in the upper square ('Horní Náměstí'), head south on 'Kaiserstraße' until you reach 'Palackého' street. Turn left and continue to 'Nádražní' street, which turns into 'Na Pevnůstce'. Continue walking for approximately 45 minutes (about 3.5 km) until you reach Fort Radíkov. No costs involved.

Fort Radíkov, also known as Pevnost Radíkov or Fort II Radíkov, is a unique and well-preserved fort located near Olomouc in the Czech Republic. Constructed between 1871 and 1876, it was part of the larger Olomouc Fortress system, intended to bolster the defense of the city. Designed by Captain Karl von Peche, the fort is an excellent example of late 19th-century military architecture.The fort was built using quarry stone and fortification bricks, designed to accommodate 800 soldiers. Its irregular hexagonal layout includes open gun posts and casemate buildings that once served as barracks. Although initially intended to be part of a larger complex of forts, Fort Radíkov was the only one fully realized.Over the years, Fort Radíkov has served various purposes, including military storage and even a wholesale depot for paints and flammable materials. Today, it stands as a cultural monument, offering visitors a chance to explore its well-preserved interior, learn about its history, and enjoy the surrounding natural landscapes. Visitors can explore exhibits detailing the fort's role in military conflicts and the region's history. Guided tours provide insights into the fort's strategic importance. The fort also hosts events such as airsoft games and educational excursions.
