  • Public Transport

    From Prague city center, take a tram to Anděl or Smíchovské Nádraží station. From there, walk down Nádražní Street for about 5 minutes. The Staropramen Brewery is located at Nádražní 43/84. A tram ticket costs 30 CZK for 30 minutes or 40 CZK for 90 minutes.

    Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber are readily available in Prague. A short taxi ride from the city center to Staropramen Brewery will cost approximately 115 CZK for a 5km trip. Note that the initial fee is 60 CZK, with an additional 36 CZK per kilometer.

    If you are staying nearby in Smíchov, you can easily walk to the Staropramen Brewery. From the Smíchov train station, head east on Hořejší nábřeží and turn left onto Pivovarská street. The Staropramen Brewery, whose name translates to "old spring", has been brewing beer in Prague's Smíchov district since 1869. The brewery quickly became one of the largest in Czechoslovakia, and today remains the second largest in the Czech Republic. Visitors can explore the Staropramen Visitor Centre, which offers an interactive journey through the brewery's history. The tour uses modern technology, including holograms and videos, to guide visitors through the brewing process, from the cultivation of hops to fermentation. The tour also introduces visitors to Josef Paspa, a head brewer who modernized Staropramen's brewing process. At the end of the tour, visitors can sample Staropramen beers in the Visitor Centre pub. Staropramen remains one of the most recognizable Czech lagers, exported to numerous countries. The brewery also produces other beers, such as Světlý (pale), Černý (dark), and Granát (garnet).
