Walking
From the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal, Higbee Beach is approximately a 20-30 minute walk. Head west on Lincoln Avenue toward Delaware Avenue, then turn right onto Delaware Avenue. Continue onto Bayshore Road, then turn left onto New England Road. Follow New England Road to the end, where you'll find the Higbee Beach parking area and beach access. The walk is roughly 1.5 miles and offers views of the canal and surrounding landscape. No costs are associated with walking.
Driving
From Cape May City, take Route 9 North to Route 109 North. Cross the Cape May Canal and turn right onto New England Road. Follow New England Road to the end, where you'll find the Higbee Beach parking area. Parking is free. The drive is approximately 10 minutes, depending on traffic. Note that the Higbee Beach parking lot is small and fills up quickly, especially during peak season. Additional parking may be available along the dirt road leading to the lot. There are no toll roads on this route.
