From Blackbird State Forest, head south on Blackbird Landing Rd (DE-15) for approximately 5 miles. Turn right onto DE-1 S and continue for about 20 miles. Take the exit toward Lewes/Cape Henlopen State Park. Merge onto Cape Henlopen Drive and follow the signs to Cape Henlopen State Park, located at 15099 Cape Henlopen Dr, Lewes, DE 19958. There is a parking fee of $5 for Delaware vehicles and $10 for out-of-state vehicles.
Public Transportation
To reach Cape Henlopen State Park via public transportation, you will first need to take a DART First State bus from Blackbird State Forest to the nearest bus stop. The closest stop is in Smyrna. From there, take the DART bus route 301 towards Dover. Transfer at the Dover Transit Center to route 201 towards Lewes. Once in Lewes, you may need to call a taxi or rideshare service to reach Cape Henlopen State Park, as the park is not directly accessible by public transport. Be sure to check the DART schedules for the latest times and any potential costs for the bus rides.
