From Blackbird State Forest, head southeast on Blackbird Landing Road towards Route 1. Turn left onto Route 1 South and continue for approximately 14 miles. Take the exit for Cape Henlopen State Park. Follow the signs into the park and continue straight until you reach Fort Miles Historic Area at 15099 Cape Henlopen State Park, Lewes, DE 19958. Note that there is a small entrance fee to the park, which is typically around $5 per vehicle.

From Blackbird State Forest, you will likely need to take a taxi or rideshare service to the nearest public transit hub, as direct public transport options are limited. Head to the nearest bus stop on Route 1. From there, take the DART First State Bus Route 201 towards Lewes. You will need to exit at the Cape Henlopen State Park stop. From the bus stop, it is approximately a 15-20 minute walk to Fort Miles Historic Area. Be sure to check the DART schedule in advance for bus times.
