    From any point in Blackbird State Forest, head south on Blackbird Landing Road (DE-9) towards the town of New Castle. Continue on DE-9 until you reach the intersection with Route 1 South. Merge onto Route 1 South and follow the signs for New Castle. Take Exit 152B for I-295 North toward Wilmington. Continue on I-295 North for about 4 miles, then take Exit 1 toward New Castle. Merge onto US-13 North and continue for approximately 2 miles. Take a left onto The Strand and follow it until you reach Read House & Gardens at 42 The Strand, New Castle, DE 19720. Parking is available nearby, and be aware that there may be parking fees depending on the time of your visit.
