Driving
From Bethany Beach, head north on Route 1 for approximately 5 miles. Just before crossing the Indian River Inlet Bridge, turn right into the North Inlet Day Area. If you cross the bridge, you've gone too far; turn around and take the first left. Follow the road for about 0.5 miles to the parking lot. Parking fees are applicable from March 1 to November 30. Parking is free the remainder of the year. However, during the summer, especially on weekends, the parking lot tends to fill up by mid morning.
Walking
If you are staying near the Indian River Inlet, you can walk to the North Inlet Day Area via the pedestrian crossings. Be aware that these crossings may be closed due to erosion or high tides. Check local alerts before you head out. From the south side of the inlet, cross the Indian River Inlet Bridge and turn immediately left to access the park. Exercise caution while walking along the road.
