Car
From Fort Delaware State Park, exit the park and turn right onto Delaware City Rd. Continue for approximately 1 mile until you reach the intersection with Route 9. Turn left onto Route 9 and follow it for about 4 miles. Merge onto Route 1 South and continue for about 10 miles. Take the exit for Route 24 East towards Lewes. After about 3 miles, follow signs for Cape Henlopen State Park. The park entrance will be on your left at 15099 Cape Henlopen Dr, Lewes, DE 19958. Note that there is a vehicle entrance fee for the park.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you will need to take a bus from the nearest station in New Castle. First, take the DART First State bus Route 64 from the New Castle area to the Rehoboth Beach Transit Center. From there, transfer to the Route 206 bus heading towards Lewes. Get off at the nearest stop to Cape Henlopen State Park (you may need to check with the driver for the best drop-off point). From there, it is a short walk to the park entrance at 15099 Cape Henlopen Dr, Lewes, DE 19958. Be aware that public transportation may not run frequently, so plan your trip accordingly.
