Getting There

  • Car

    To reach the First State Heritage Park Welcome Center and Galleries from Killens Pond State Park by car, start by exiting the park onto Killens Pond Road. Turn left onto Route 13 North. Continue on Route 13 for approximately 10 miles, then take the exit toward Dover. Merge onto M.L.K. Jr Blvd N. The welcome center will be on your right at 121 M.L.K. Jr Blvd N, Dover, DE 19901. There is no parking fee at the welcome center.

    If you are using public transportation, you will first need to travel from Killens Pond State Park to the nearest bus station. You can arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the nearest DART First State bus stop. Once you reach a bus stop, take the DART bus Route 301 towards Dover. Disembark at the stop near 121 M.L.K. Jr Blvd N. The welcome center is a short walk from the bus stop. Please check the DART First State website for the latest schedule and fare information.
