Driving
Trap Pond State Park is easily accessible by car via US-13 in Sussex County, Delaware. From US-13, follow signs to DE-24 W/Laurel Road, then turn onto Bald Cypress Lane to reach the park entrance. Note that entrance fees are in effect from March 1 to November 30: $4 for Delaware-registered vehicles and $8 for out-of-state vehicles. Parking is available in several areas within the park, including the main parking area, Cypress Point Picnic Area, and near the Baldcypress Nature Center. Limited parking is available at the Day Use Area.
Public Transport
While direct public transportation to Trap Pond State Park is limited, you can take a bus to a nearby town and then use a taxi or ride-sharing service to reach the park. For example, from Rehoboth Beach, take the DART Route 201 bus to the Lewes Transit Center, then transfer to Route 206 to the Sussex Correctional Institution. From there, a taxi or ride-share to Trap Pond State Park will cost approximately $20-$30. Bus fare from Rehoboth to Sussex Correctional Institution is approximately $4-6.
