From downtown Milford, start at the Milford Museum located at 121 S Walnut St. Head south on S Walnut St towards E Park Ave. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with N Rehoboth Blvd (US-1). Cross the street at the crosswalk and continue along the sidewalk until you reach the bus stop on the right side at 1 E Park Ave. Take the DART First State bus route 204 towards Wilmington. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the New Castle stop. Disembark at The Strand. From the bus stop, walk north on The Strand for a few blocks until you reach 42 The Strand, where Read House & Gardens is located.

Begin your journey by heading south on S Walnut St towards E Park Ave. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with N Rehoboth Blvd (US-1). Once you arrive in New Castle, park your bike at a bike rack near Read House & Gardens located at 42 The Strand.
