    From the center of Newark, head south on South Main Street toward East Delaware Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with East Cleveland Avenue. Turn right onto East Cleveland Avenue and walk until you reach the intersection with South College Avenue. Cross South College Avenue and continue straight on East Cleveland Avenue. After a short walk, you will reach the bus stop for DART First State Bus Route 1.

    Take the DART First State Bus Route 1 from the bus stop on East Cleveland Avenue. Stay on the bus for approximately 20 minutes. The bus will take you to the New Castle area. Get off at the stop labeled 'Delaware Street and 2nd Street.' From there, walk east on Delaware Street for about 0.3 miles until you reach 211 Delaware St, New Castle, DE 19720, the location of First State National Historical Park.

  • Biking

    If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Newark. Head south on South Main Street and follow the same route as walking until you reach East Cleveland Avenue. Turn right and bike along East Cleveland Avenue until you reach the DART Bus Route 1 stop.
