If you're starting from the Newark Train Station, exit the station and head south on South College Avenue. Continue walking straight down South College Avenue for about half a mile. You'll pass several shops and eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for the Newark Historical Society, which is located at 429 South College Avenue, on your left. The building is a historical site, making it easy to recognize.
Public Transportation (Bus)
If you're near the center of Newark, you can take the DART First State bus service. Look for bus routes that head south. Specifically, you can take the 1 or 13 bus at any of the nearby stops toward the University of Delaware. Get off at the stop closest to 429 South College Avenue. After disembarking, walk a short distance south on College Avenue until you reach the Newark Historical Society.
Biking
For those who prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike-share programs. Start from the downtown area and head south on South College Avenue. There are bike lanes available, making it safe to ride. After about 10-15 minutes of cycling, you will arrive at the Newark Historical Society located at 429 South College Avenue. Make sure to lock your bike at the designated bike racks when you arrive.
