To reach the 'Welcome to Delaware' sign, start from Rehoboth Beach (a popular tourist location in Sussex County). Head northeast on Coastal Hwy (US-1 N) for approximately 8 miles. As you approach the town of Lewes, keep an eye out for the intersection with Route 9. Turn left onto Route 9 and continue for about 1.5 miles. The sign will be located on the right side of the road, just before the bridge entering Delaware. There is no parking lot, so it's best to pull over safely on the shoulder for a photo opportunity.

If you prefer to use public transportation, take the DART First State bus Route 201 from anywhere in Sussex County towards Lewes. Request to get off at the stop closest to the intersection of Coastal Hwy and Route 9. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to the 'Welcome to Delaware' sign. Head east on Route 9 until you reach the sign, which will be on the right side of the road. Please note that bus fare may vary, so check the DART First State website for the latest fare information.

For those who enjoy cycling, you can ride from Rehoboth Beach to the 'Welcome to Delaware' sign. Start on the Junction and Breakwater Trail heading northeast until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Continue along Route 1 for about 5 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 9. Turn left onto Route 9 and continue for about 1.5 miles to the sign. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on your pace.
