Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the center of The Brandywine Valley. Take Route 1 (south) towards West Chester. Once you reach West Chester, take the exit for 202 N. Continue on 202 N until you reach the exit for West Chester. Merge onto Market St. and continue straight. Turn right onto Oakland Rd. The Brinton 1704 House will be on your left at 21 Oakland Rd, West Chester, PA 19382. There is parking available on-site.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take the SEPTA Regional Rail from Wilmington or Philadelphia to West Chester. Once you arrive at the West Chester station, you can take the 104 or 112 bus toward West Chester. Get off at the stop closest to Oakland Rd, and walk approximately 0.5 miles to reach Brinton 1704 House at 21 Oakland Rd, West Chester, PA 19382. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance as they may vary on weekends.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to bike, The Brandywine Valley has several bike paths. From the center of West Chester, head south on the bike path along Route 1. Once you reach the intersection with Oakland Rd, turn right and continue until you reach 21 Oakland Rd. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local biking regulations.

• Walking

  If you are already in West Chester and prefer to walk, start from the town square and head south on High St. Continue straight until you reach Market St. Turn left and follow Market St. to Oakland Rd. Turn right onto Oakland Rd, and the Brinton 1704 House will be on your left. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles and will take about 30 minutes.
