Blackbird State Forest's main entrance (Tybout Tract) is located at 502 Blackbird Forest Rd, Smyrna, DE 19977. From DE-1, exit onto DE-299 and proceed to U.S. 13 South. Follow U.S. 13 South parallel to DE-1 for approximately six miles, then turn right at the flashing light onto Blackbird Forest Road. The headquarters will be two miles on your left. Parking is free. Be aware that parking can be limited during peak times.
Walking

If you are in the vicinity of Smyrna, Delaware, you can walk or bike to the Blackbird State Forest. From the center of Smyrna, head west on Commerce Street, then turn left onto US-13 South. Continue onto Blackbird Forest Road and follow for approximately 2 miles. Please note that there are no sidewalks on Blackbird Forest Road, so exercise caution. There are no costs associated with walking or biking into the forest.
