Felix du Pont Jr., who later donated the land to New Castle County with the intention of it being used for recreational purposes. The park is also known for its equestrian facilities, including indoor and outdoor riding rings, therapeutic riding lessons, and horse boarding. The Carousel Park Equestrian Center is home to about 60 horses, including the New Castle County Mounted Police horses. In addition to its trails and equestrian activities, Carousel Park features a dog park, picnic areas, and a playground, making it a destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts. Throughout the year, the park hosts various events, including farmers' markets, craft festivals, and riding camps.

    Carousel Park is located at 3700 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808. From DE-2 (Kirkwood Highway) & DE-7 (Limestone Rd), take DE-7 (Limestone Rd) north for 1.9 miles. Make a U-turn at Greenwood Dr and pass Old Linden Hill Rd. Proceed 0.3 miles, and the entrance to the lot will be on the right. Parking is available on-site. There is no parking fee.

    While there isn't a direct bus route to Carousel Park, DART First State bus routes 19 and 30 stop near the park. From the Wilmington Transit Center, take either route and alight at a stop along Limestone Road, then walk to the park. A one-way fare is $2.
