Opening times, essentials, and a few local tips gathered into one calmer, easier-to-scan planning section.
City bus
From central Aarhus and most inner neighbourhoods, use the city bus network to stops around Rådhuspladsen or Park Allé, which are typically 5–10 minutes’ ride from major hubs such as Aarhus Rutebilstation. A single adult ticket within the city zone usually costs around 20–25 DKK when bought with a travel card or app. Buses run frequently during the day and evening, but late-night services are reduced, so check the timetable if you plan to dine close to closing time.
Light rail (Aarhus Letbane) plus walk
If you are staying along the light rail lines, travel to Aarhus H or Skolebakken station, which are both in the city centre. The ride from outer districts such as Skejby or Lisbjerg typically takes 10–20 minutes, with tickets in the same range as city buses, around 20–25 DKK for a single zone fare. From either station it is an easy 10–15 minute walk on mostly level pavements through central streets to Åboulevarden, suitable for wheelchairs and strollers.
Bicycle
Aarhus is well suited to cycling, and Åboulevarden is reachable from most central districts in 10–20 minutes by bike. You can use rental bikes or bike-share services, often priced from about 10–20 DKK per short ride, with costs increasing for longer use. Expect a mix of dedicated bike lanes and shared streets, and be prepared for some mild inclines in parts of the city, though the section around the canal is generally flat.
Taxi
Taxis are a convenient option in the evening or if you are traveling with children. From areas like Trøjborg, Frederiksbjerg or the harbourfront, journeys to Åboulevarden usually take 5–15 minutes depending on traffic. Typical city-centre fares often fall in the 80–160 DKK range, with supplements at night and on weekends. Taxis can drop you on streets close to the pedestrian canal area; from there it is a short, level walk to the restaurant.
