Hi, I'm Eve. Here are a few practical things to know before exploring & Other Stories.
Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Walking from City Hall Square
From Rådhuspladsen (City Hall Square), enter the Strøget pedestrian zone and walk approximately 10–15 minutes through the shopping street. Follow the flow of pedestrians and signage; Amagertorv is clearly marked and sits at the midpoint of Strøget. The route is entirely flat, fully pedestrianized, and well-lit. No parking required; simply follow the main shopping corridor.
Walking from Kongens Nytorv
From Kongens Nytorv (The King's New Square), enter Strøget and walk approximately 10–12 minutes westward. The street is continuous and clearly marked; Amagertorv appears as a widened plaza with the Stork Fountain. This route is entirely pedestrian-accessible, flat, and well-signposted.
Taxi or rideshare
Request drop-off at Amagertorv or Strøget, Copenhagen city centre. Taxis from Copenhagen Central Station or major hotels typically charge 80–120 DKK for central rides. The final approach requires walking into the pedestrian zone; vehicles cannot access Amagertorv itself. Journey time from the station is approximately 5–10 minutes depending on traffic.
Bicycle
Bike stands are available on Amagertorv's edges. Cycling is permitted on Strøget's designated bike lanes, though the pedestrian zone is crowded during peak hours. Secure your bicycle at the stands provided; typical parking is free or minimal cost. Journey time from Central Station is approximately 5–8 minutes via bike routes.
