Set on Amagertorv along Copenhagen’s main shopping artery, Strøget, & Other Stories is a bright, contemporary womenswear store mixing Scandinavian understatement with Parisian flair. Spacious rails of ready-to-wear, curated shoes, bags, jewellery and beauty products invite leisurely browsing rather than rushed errands, making it a stylish stop for fashion-conscious travelers exploring the historic heart of the city.
Opening times, essentials, and a few local tips gathered into one calmer, easier-to-scan planning section.
Metro from central Copenhagen hubs
From major central stations such as Nørreport or Copenhagen Central, take the M1 or M2 metro to Kongens Nytorv or Nørreport and continue by foot into the pedestrian Strøget area; the ride is around 2–5 minutes with frequent departures. A single zone ticket typically costs about 20–25 DKK when bought as a single fare or via a travel card. Metro stations and trains have step-free access, but the final approach through Strøget involves walking on cobblestones, which can be uneven for wheelchairs or strollers.
City bus to the old town
Several city bus lines stop near Strøget and the historic centre, with journey times of roughly 10–20 minutes from inner neighbourhoods depending on traffic. Standard bus fares align with the metro system, usually around 20–25 DKK for short trips within the central zones, and tickets can be purchased via machines, apps or contactless options. Buses are generally low-floor and accessible, but you will still need to walk a few minutes through the pedestrian zone to reach the store.
Cycling in the city centre
Copenhagen’s extensive cycle lanes make it practical to arrive by bike from many central districts in about 5–15 minutes. You can use your own bicycle or rent a city bike from docking stations spread around the centre, with typical pay-as-you-go costs starting around 15–25 DKK for a short ride. Cycling is on dedicated lanes for most of the way, but bikes are not allowed along the busiest stretches of Strøget itself, so you will need to dismount and walk the last part through the pedestrian area.
Taxi or rideshare to nearby streets
Taxis can drop you on streets close to Strøget, usually within a 3–10 minute ride from central hotels, depending on traffic. A short central journey often ranges between 80–160 DKK, with higher prices at night or in heavy traffic. Vehicles cannot enter the pedestrian section of Amagertorv, so expect a short walk along flat but sometimes crowded cobbled streets from the drop-off point to the store entrance.
