LEGOLAND® Billund Resort
LEGOLAND® Billund Resort
The original LEGOLAND park where 80 million LEGO bricks, gentle coasters and imaginative play zones turn Billund into Denmark’s most colourful family adventure.
LEGOLAND Billund Resort, the original LEGOLAND park, transforms the small town of Billund into a colourful world built from more than 80 million LEGO bricks. Spread across themed lands like Miniland, LEGO NINJAGO World and Pirate Land, this family-focused theme park combines gentle coasters, interactive dark rides and imaginative play areas with live shows and creative building zones. With on-site themed hotels, plentiful dining and a compact, walkable layout, it is a full-day – and often multi-day – destination for LEGO fans and families with children aged roughly 2–12.
Opening times, essentials, and a few local tips gathered into one calmer, easier-to-scan planning section.
Regional bus from Vejle
From Vejle, take a direct regional bus toward Billund, which typically runs several times per hour in the main season. The journey to the stop near LEGOLAND Billund usually takes about 35–45 minutes. Expect a one-way adult fare in the range of 40–70 DKK depending on ticket type and discounts. Buses are modern and generally accessible, though they can be busy at peak arrival and departure times.
Bus from Billund Airport
Billund Airport lies close to the resort, and local buses or hotel shuttles link the terminals with the LEGOLAND area. Travel time is usually 10–15 minutes, and standard local bus tickets often fall in the 20–40 DKK range for a single adult. Services tend to align with flight schedules but may thin out late in the evening or outside the main park season, so checking same-week timetables is advisable.
Car from regional towns
Driving from nearby Jutland towns such as Kolding, Esbjerg or Aarhus typically takes 45–75 minutes via main highways and well-signposted local roads. Standard passenger cars are sufficient; there is no need for 4x4. The resort offers sizeable paid parking areas close to the entrance, with daily parking fees commonly in the 60–120 DKK range per vehicle. During high season and on school holiday mornings, arrive early to find spaces closer to the gates and allow extra time to walk from the car parks.
Walk from nearby accommodation
If you stay in one of the LEGOLAND hotels or other accommodation within Billund’s resort district, you can usually walk to the park in around 10–25 minutes. Routes are along pavements and resort paths that are generally flat and stroller-friendly, though they may be exposed to wind and rain. Comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate layers are recommended, especially for the return walk after a full day in the park.
