Opened in 2018, the elevated promenade stretches from the urban fabric close to the old town down toward Dokhavnen, gliding above a strip of parkland and traffic. From here, the city’s industrial skyline suddenly turns into a dramatic backdrop. Seen from above, the structure resembles a branching tree limb reaching out towards the water. This main spine and its offshoots naturally guide you between town and quay, away from trucks and port machinery, turning what was once a functional gap into an inviting urban stroll.

Architecture shaped like a branching path

Architecturally, Landgangen is designed as a long, slightly curving ramp with smaller side branches that form pockets and viewpoints. The deck floats above the park on slender supports, allowing the green space below to remain largely untouched.
