Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Ali Sabieh, start at the local market, known as the 'souk'. Head south on the main road (Rue de la Republique) for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with the road leading to the border with Ethiopia. Turn left onto the road towards Dewele, which is well-signposted. Continue walking this road for approximately 3 kilometers. As you approach the border area, look out for the sign for Cheick Farah Matan. The location is near the border, and you will need to cross into Ethiopia to reach it. Ensure you have your passport and any necessary travel documents ready for border crossing.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  From Ali Sabieh, find the bus station (Gare Routière) where local buses depart. Board a bus heading towards Dewele, Ethiopia. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop nearest to Cheick Farah Matan. Once you arrive in Dewele, walk south along the main road for about 500 meters. Look for the signs indicating the direction to Cheick Farah Matan, which should be visible as you get closer to the site.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Ali Sabieh. Start from the central square and head south on Rue de la Republique for about 1 kilometer. Once you reach the intersection towards Dewele, take a left. Continue cycling along this road for about 3 kilometers. Be cautious of the traffic and keep an eye out for signs leading to Cheick Farah Matan. Once you reach the border area, you will need to park your bicycle and walk across the border into Ethiopia.
