A brief summary to DECAN Refuge

Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the central market in Ali Sabieh. From the market, head south on Rue des Frères until you reach the intersection with Avenue de l'Indépendance. Turn left on Avenue de l'Indépendance. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the main road RN2. At the RN2, turn right and walk for approximately 3 kilometers. You will pass several small shops and local eateries. Keep an eye out for the DECAN Refuge signs as you approach. The refuge is located on the right side of the RN2. Make sure to check the opening hours before your visit, as it is only open from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops near the central market in Ali Sabieh. Start your ride heading south on Rue des Frères and then turn left onto Avenue de l'Indépendance. Continue down Avenue de l'Indépendance until you reach the RN2. Turn right onto RN2 and cycle for about 3 kilometers. You will see DECAN Refuge on your right. The ride should take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on your cycling speed. Be cautious of traffic and ensure you have a helmet for safety.

    Head to the nearest bus stop from the central market in Ali Sabieh. Look for a bus heading towards Djibouti City, as some of them may stop near DECAN Refuge. Inform the bus driver of your destination. Once you reach the RN2, get off the bus and walk about 500 meters back towards the direction you came from. DECAN Refuge will be on your left. Make sure to check the bus schedules ahead of time, as they may vary.
