  • Public Transport

    From Roseau, take a minibus heading towards Laudat. These buses typically depart from the corner of Valley Road and Bath Road. The journey to Laudat takes about 30 minutes. From Laudat, it's a short walk to the Middleham Falls trailhead. Minibus fare is approximately EC$5-10 (USD $2-4).

  • Taxi/Ride-Share

    A taxi from Roseau to the Middleham Falls trailhead will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Negotiate the fare beforehand, which typically ranges from EC$80-EC$135 (US$30-US$50). Arrange a pick-up time for your return journey, as taxis are not always readily available at the trailhead.

  • Driving

    From Roseau, head east towards the interior of the island. Follow the signs to Laudat. From Laudat, follow the signs to the Middleham Falls trailhead. There is a parking lot at the trailhead. Note that the roads can be winding and steep. Parking is free. There are no toll roads.

  • Entrance Fee

    Middleham Falls is located within Morne Trois Pitons National Park. There is a park entrance fee of US$5 per person. Officially, the fee is EC$5 (USD $1.85), payable in cash. Purchase a day pass to access Middleham Falls and other attractions within the park.

Middleham Falls is a majestic waterfall located in the heart of Dominica's Morne Trois Pitons National Park. Plunging from a height of approximately 200-275 feet (61-84 meters), it is one of the island's tallest and most spectacular waterfalls. The falls are accessible via a moderately challenging 2.5-4 mile hike through a lush, mountainous rainforest. The trail to Middleham Falls winds through a vibrant and diverse rainforest, showcasing Dominica's rich biodiversity. Along the way, hikers can admire towering trees, giant ferns, and a variety of tropical plants. The area is also home to diverse wildlife, including various bird species, such as the Jaco Parrot and Rufous-throated Solitaire, as well as lizards and crabs. Once part of the Middleham Estate, the land around the falls was donated to the World Wildlife Fund in the 1970s and later transferred to the Dominican government, becoming part of Morne Trois Pitons National Park. The hike takes roughly 2-3 hours round trip. The trail can be steep and slippery, especially after rain, so sturdy hiking shoes are recommended. At the end of the trail, a viewing platform provides a stunning perspective of Middleham Falls as it plunges into a natural pool below. The pool is often swimmable, offering a refreshing dip in the cool waters. However, caution is advised when descending to the pools, as the path can be slippery.
