Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From the village of Calibishie, Number One Beach is accessible by minibus. Look for a bus heading towards Portsmouth or Roseau and inform the driver you wish to stop at Number One Beach. The bus fare is typically between EC$1.50 to EC$10.25, depending on the distance traveled. From the bus stop, follow the signs and walk approximately 15 minutes to the beach.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are available in Dominica, and can be arranged from Douglas-Charles Airport or in major towns like Roseau and Portsmouth. A taxi from the airport to Number One Beach area will cost approximately US$30-80. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey. From the main road, it's a short walk to the beach.

  • Car

    If driving from Calibishie, head southwest on the main road (Route 9). Continue for about 3.5 kilometers, passing through the village. Look for signs indicating Number One Beach and turn left onto a smaller road. Follow this road for about 1 kilometer to the parking area. Parking is free. Car rentals are available at the airport and in major towns.
