Chaudiere Pool Travel Guide

The pool is part of the Chaudiere Estate and is fed by the Hampstead River, which originates from Morne Diablotin National Park. The name 'Chaudière' comes from the Creole word for 'pot,' describing the pool's basin-like shape.Visitors can swim, relax, and cliff jump into the deep, turquoise waters. The surrounding rocks provide a serene environment for sunbathing and enjoying nature. The pool is surrounded by lush foliage, offering a tranquil setting for relaxation. During midday, sunlight penetrates the water, revealing freshwater fish.The trail to Chaudiere Pool passes Morne Sampson and provides views of the Atlantic Ocean and the forested areas. The hike from Bense village takes about 30 minutes and involves crossing a river, so sturdy footwear is recommended. The local Kalinago people used this area of the Hampstead River as a gathering place before European colonization.
