Walking
Start from the center of Mahaut, near the Mahaut River. Head north on the main road (Route 5) towards Portsmouth. Continue walking along Route 5 for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach a sign for Fort Shirley. Keep an eye out for local landmarks such as the Mahaut Health Center on your left. Once you see the sign, turn left onto the road that leads to Fort Shirley. Follow the path uphill for about 500 meters until you reach the entrance of Fort Shirley.

From Mahaut, walk to the nearest bus stop along Route 5. Look for a minibus heading towards Portsmouth. The fare is usually around $2.50 XCD. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Fort Shirley. The journey will take about 10-15 minutes, depending on stops. Once you reach Portsmouth, look for signs directing you to Fort Shirley, or ask locals for guidance. You may need to walk a short distance uphill from the bus stop to reach the fort.
