Discover more about Trafalgar Falls

Trafalgar Falls, located a mere 20-minute drive from Roseau, is one of Dominica's most celebrated natural wonders. These twin cascades, affectionately named the 'Father' and 'Mother,' have sculpted their path through volcanic rock over centuries, nourished by Dominica's abundant rainfall. The falls are nestled within the lush embrace of Morne Trois Pitons National Park, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, adding to their allure. The journey to Trafalgar Falls is an immersive experience in itself. The well-maintained path meanders through a vibrant rainforest, filled with towering trees and exotic flora. The symphony of nature intensifies as you approach the viewing platform, where the breathtaking sight of the twin falls unfolds. The 'Father' fall, the taller of the two, plunges dramatically into a rocky gorge, while the 'Mother' fall flows more gently, feeding a series of warm mineral pools. For the more adventurous, a trek beyond the viewing platform leads to the base of the falls, where refreshing swimming holes and a hidden hot spring await. Navigating the boulder field requires caution, and a local guide is recommended for those seeking the hidden hot spring. The warm pools offer a soothing respite, allowing visitors to unwind amidst the stunning natural beauty. While swimming in the pools is a popular activity, caution is advised. It's also important to note that the hot water pools along the track to the falls have been covered since Hurricane Maria in 2017. Despite this, Trafalgar Falls remains a must-see destination, offering a blend of natural beauty, geological wonder, and a touch of adventure.
