Getting There

    From Roseau, the most convenient way to reach Trafalgar Falls is by taxi. Taxis are readily available in the city center. The ride takes approximately 20 minutes. A one-way taxi fare from Roseau to Trafalgar Falls typically costs around $3-4 USD. Upon arrival, a short walk from the parking area leads to the Trafalgar Falls Visitor Facility and the trailhead.

  • Driving

    If driving from Roseau, head east towards the village of Trafalgar. The drive is approximately 7.8 km and takes about 20 minutes. Follow the main road through Trafalgar village until you reach the end, where you'll find a large parking area, vendor stalls, and the visitor center. Parking is available at the visitor center. There are no toll roads on this route. From the parking area, it's a short walk to the falls.

Trafalgar Falls, located a short drive from Roseau, is one of Dominica's most iconic natural attractions. These twin waterfalls, affectionately called the 'Mother' and 'Father,' cascade side-by-side, creating a breathtaking spectacle. The 'Father' fall, taller and more forceful, plunges about 125 feet, while the 'Mother' fall is shorter and gentler.The journey to the falls is an experience in itself. A well-maintained trail leads through the heart of Dominica's rainforest, surrounded by towering trees, exotic flora, and the sounds of nature. The path is approximately 0.3 miles (0.5 km) one way and takes about 10–15 minutes to reach the viewing platform. Interpretive signs provide information about the native plants and wildlife.From the viewing platform, visitors can admire the grandeur of the twin falls. For the adventurous, a guided trek to the base of the falls offers an unforgettable experience. Some visitors enjoy swimming in the refreshing pool at the base of the 'Father' fall or relaxing in the warm sulphur springs downstream. However, caution is advised when navigating the rocks, as they can be slippery.
