If you are driving, start from the center of Bavaro and head west on Avenida Barceló towards the intersection with Carretera Uvero Alto. Turn left onto Carretera Uvero Alto and continue straight for about 30 minutes. You will pass through the towns of El Macao and then into Higüey. Once you reach Higüey, follow the signs to the city center. Look for Las Carreras street; Mercado Municipal will be on your left side. Parking is available nearby.

To reach Mercado Municipal using public transportation, look for a 'guagua' (shared van) or bus heading to Higüey from Bavaro. These usually depart from designated stops in Bavaro. Board the bus and inform the driver or conductor that you want to go to Higüey. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Higüey, ask for directions to Las Carreras street. Mercado Municipal is a short walk from the main bus station; just head down Las Carreras street, and it will be on your left.
