From Cordillera Central, take the main road towards Santo Domingo. If you are in the Jarabacoa area, head southeast on Carretera Jarabacoa until you reach the junction with Autopista Duarte (DR-1). Merge onto Autopista Duarte heading south. Continue on this highway for about 1.5 hours until you see signs for Santo Domingo. Once you enter the city, follow the signs to Zona Colonial. You'll want to navigate towards Plaza de España, where the Alcázar de Colón is located at C. La Atarazana 2. Parking is available nearby, but be mindful of any parking fees which may range from 50 to 150 DOP (Dominican Pesos).

To reach Alcázar de Colón via public transportation, first, take a 'carro público' (shared taxi) or a bus from your location in Cordillera Central to the nearest major city bus terminal. If you are in Jarabacoa, you can find buses to Santo Domingo. The journey typically costs between 150 to 300 DOP. Upon arrival at the Santo Domingo bus terminal, look for local buses or 'carros públicos' that head to Zona Colonial. Once in the Zona Colonial area, walk to Plaza de España, where Alcázar de Colón is located at C. La Atarazana 2. Be aware of walking distances, as it may take around 10-15 minutes to walk from the bus drop-off to the museum.
