Car
If you are driving from the town of Samaná, take the main road towards Las Terrenas. Follow the signs for Las Terrenas, which is approximately a 30-minute drive. As you approach Las Terrenas, look for the intersection with the 27 de Febrero street. Turn right onto 27 de Febrero and continue straight for about 1 km. You will see signs for Playa Punta Popy on your left. There is a parking area nearby; parking may incur a small fee, typically around 100-200 Dominican Pesos.
Public Transportation (Guagua)
From Samaná, you can take a 'guagua' (local minibus) to Las Terrenas. The guaguas leave regularly from the main terminal in Samaná. The fare is usually around 100 Dominican Pesos per person. Once you arrive in Las Terrenas, ask the driver to drop you off at the stop closest to Playa Punta Popy. From there, it is a short walk of about 10-15 minutes down 27 de Febrero street towards the beach.
Taxi
You can also hire a taxi from anywhere in Samaná to take you directly to Playa Punta Popy. Make sure to agree on a fare before getting in; the cost should be around 800-1200 Dominican Pesos depending on your starting point. The taxi will take you directly to the beach, and it usually takes about 30 minutes from Samaná.
