A dream place that you have to visit. It is not easily accessible. You can do the hike or the horseback ride. In both cases, you must wear appropriate shoes. In the middle of a kind of jungle, with landscapes and lush vegetation, and after a journey of almost an hour (in my case on horseback), we arrived at a green waterfall. With crystal-clear and cool water. A perfect place to cool off, rest, and take the best photographs. You must bring dollars to buy crafts, souvenirs, and tip the volunteers who lead the horses.

Good but long day, beautiful sights.

Long bus ride and boat ride. Be prepared if you suffer from any kind of motion sickness. Transportation ran late for our pick up and we had to use WhatsApp to get a few things worked out, also recommend to pay for a travel package for your cell phone so you can use Google translate or another app while on the excursion. Swim time at the water fall and at the beach were both fairly short so if you want to swim I recommend wearing your bathing suit to cut down on changing time. Time watching whales is limited to 30 minutes but we were lucky enough to see a mom and baby. Our guide and drivers, both coach and boat were all amazing and professional. Be prepared to be tired as the walk down to the waterfall is not bad but the climb up can really knock you on your butt and it is really an all day adventure (7am-7pm). Overall a really good trip and because of the distance you have to travel from most resorts you get to see the real Dominican Republic as you drive.

Exhausting

Nice experience this excursion. It's not for very young children because of the boat and horseback riding. I always recommend buying it with an agent and not on the beach or by irregular means because they are very disorganized and although they take you the same way they waste time to organize with the transfers. We were picked up at 6.45am and not taken to the door of a hotel (Prince Bay) where we were joined with more people and had more than an hour because they did not have a vehicle for transfer to the fishing village where you must take the boat. The excursion is very exhausting. The ride goes all the way down a muddy road. Here I felt sorry for the horses, all very skinny. And the people who take you with the horse, walk you next door, carry a twig to hit the horse to advance. Plus they expect you to tip them. The food they offer is nothing otherworldly. They try hard but you see the dirt everywhere. The highlight is the beach of Cayo Levantado. Beautiful, sargassum-free, transparent water. Of course you have mud and horse boot everywhere when you're taken.
