Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Samaná, head west on Avenida Maria Montez towards Carretera Samaná - Sánchez. Continue on this road for about 30 minutes until you reach the town of Sánchez. Once in Sánchez, follow the signs towards Miches. This will lead you onto Carretera Miches-Sabana de la Mar. Continue on this road for approximately 45 minutes. Medina Point will be on the right side of the road, after passing through several small villages. Look for local signs indicating the hiking area.

    To reach Medina Point via public transportation, start by taking a 'carro publico' (shared taxi) from Samaná to Sánchez. The fare is typically around 100 Dominican Pesos (approximately $2 USD) per person. Once you arrive in Sánchez, you will need to transfer to another 'carro publico' heading towards Miches. The fare for this leg is also around 100 Dominican Pesos. After arriving in Miches, you can either hire a motorcycle taxi or continue by local bus directly to Medina Point on the Carretera Miches-Sabana de la Mar. The total travel time can be around 2-3 hours depending on waiting times for transfers.
