Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
From the city of Tena, drive south on the E45 highway towards the town of El Coca. The drive will take approximately 3 hours, covering about 150 km. Once you reach El Coca, continue onto the road heading to the Yasuní National Park entrance. This may require a 4x4 vehicle due to unpaved roads. The entrance is located at approximately 8WVH+GQP, which is the GPS coordinate for the park. Be sure to carry cash for entrance fees.
Public Transportation
From Tena, take a bus to El Coca. The bus ride takes around 4-5 hours. Once in El Coca, look for local transport options, such as a shared taxi or van, to take you to the entrance of Yasuní National Park. Make sure to ask for the correct fare and confirm stops with the driver. After reaching the park entrance, you may need to arrange for a local guide to explore the park, which may incur additional costs.
Boat
After reaching the town of El Coca, you can take a boat from the port to the park entrance. This option is scenic and allows you to see the Amazon River. The boat ride typically takes 2-3 hours, and prices may vary, so confirm with local boat operators beforehand. Ensure you have your entry fees ready for the park.
