Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the nearest major city, such as Latacunga or Ambato. From Latacunga, take the E30 road south towards Sigchos. Continue on the E30 until you reach the town of Sigchos. From Sigchos, take the road towards Isinlivi. Follow the signs for Isinlivi, and as you approach the town, keep an eye out for Gabriel Moncayo street. The Llullu Llama Mountain Lodge is located on Gabriel Moncayo, so you may need to ask locals for specific directions once near the area. Be prepared for winding mountain roads and potentially limited signage. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel as gas stations may be sparse.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Llullu Llama Mountain Lodge using public transportation, first take a bus from Quito or Latacunga to Sigchos. Buses from Latacunga to Sigchos typically leave from the main bus terminal and the fare is around $2-3. Once you arrive in Sigchos, you can either take a local taxi to Isinlivi or look for a shared van (known as a 'pickup') that operates between Sigchos and Isinlivi. The taxi fare to Isinlivi is approximately $10-15. When you arrive in Isinlivi, ask the driver to drop you off at Gabriel Moncayo street, where you will find the Llullu Llama Mountain Lodge.

  For the adventurous, if you are already in the vicinity and enjoy hiking, you can trek to Llullu Llama Mountain Lodge from nearby locations like Chugchilan or Isinlivi. The hike from Chugchilan to Isinlivi takes about 3-4 hours, offering stunning vistas of the Andean landscape. Ensure that you have proper hiking gear, enough water, and snacks. Follow the marked trails and ask locals for guidance if needed. This option is free, but you should be prepared for the physical exertion involved.
