After approximately 22 km, take the exit towards the E30 highway. Continue on E30 for about 15 km until you reach the town of Candelaria. From Candelaria, take the road leading to Pasochoa, which is well-marked. Keep an eye out for signs as you drive; the journey from Ambato to Pasochoa should take around 1 hour in total. Make sure your vehicle is in good condition, as some parts of the roads can be bumpy.
Public Transportation
For those opting for public transportation, you can take a bus from Ambato to the nearby town of Candelaria. Buses leave frequently from the Ambato bus terminal, and the fare is usually around $1.50. Once you arrive in Candelaria, you can either walk approximately 5 km to Pasochoa or hire a local taxi for about $5-$10. Ensure you ask the taxi driver to take you directly to the entrance of Pasochoa, as it is a well-known destination for locals.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Ambato straight to Pasochoa. This option is more expensive, costing around $30-$40 depending on negotiations. The journey should take about 45 minutes, and you'll be dropped off right at the entrance of the park, allowing for easy access to the trails.
