Public Bus
From the central bus terminal in Macas, take a bus heading towards Sucúa. The buses are frequent, departing approximately every 30 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the stop for Barrio la Cruz, which is the nearest location to Finca el Piura. The journey takes about 30-45 minutes. Once you arrive at Barrio la Cruz, you will need to walk approximately 2 kilometers to reach Finca el Piura. Follow the main road (Via Tambache) southeast until you see the signs for Finca el Piura.
Taxi
You can also hire a taxi from anywhere in Macas to take you directly to Finca el Piura. Provide the driver with the address: Morona-Santiago, Barrio la Cruz, via tambache, Sucúa 140301. The taxi ride will take around 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your trip, as not all taxis use a meter.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, start from the central plaza in Macas and head southeast towards the main road. It’s roughly a 10-kilometer walk, which may take about 2-3 hours. Follow the main road towards Sucúa, and keep an eye out for signs pointing to Finca el Piura. It’s advisable to start early in the morning to avoid the midday heat.
