Walking
Start from the central plaza of Macas, located at the intersection of Avenida 15 de Noviembre and Calle 24 de Mayo. From the plaza, head south on Avenida 15 de Noviembre for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Calle 10 de Agosto. Turn left onto Calle 10 de Agosto and continue walking for another 300 meters. You will see local shops and eateries along the way, providing a vibrant atmosphere. Once you reach the end of Calle 10 de Agosto, turn right onto Avenida 12 de Octubre. Follow this road for approximately 1 kilometer, and you will start to see signs directing you toward Mirador del Quilamo. After about 1 kilometer, the path will lead you uphill. Continue following the signs, and after about 30 minutes of walking uphill, you will arrive at the Mirador del Quilamo, where you can enjoy stunning views.
Public Transport (Bus)
From the central plaza of Macas, look for the local bus terminal, which is located near the intersection of Avenida 15 de Noviembre and Calle 24 de Mayo. Catch a bus heading towards the 'Mirador' or any bus that indicates it goes to the surrounding areas of Macas. Buses generally run every 30 minutes. Once you are on the bus, ask the driver to drop you off at the closest point to Mirador del Quilamo. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes. After getting off the bus, you may need to walk approximately 20 minutes uphill following the signs to reach the Mirador.
