Walking
Start at the central plaza of Macas, Plaza 15 de Noviembre. Head southeast on Calle 10 de Agosto toward Calle 9 de Octubre for approximately 200 meters until you reach the intersection with Calle 9 de Octubre. Turn left onto Calle 9 de Octubre and continue straight for about 600 meters until you reach the end of the street. At the intersection, turn right onto the road leading uphill. Follow this road for about 1.2 kilometers, keeping an eye out for local signs directing you toward Mirador del Quilamo. The trail will be marked with signs. Once you reach the trailhead, you will need to hike up the path for approximately 30-40 minutes to reach the observation deck.
Public Transport (Bus/Minibus)
From the central plaza of Macas, head to the nearest bus terminal, which is located just a few blocks away. Look for a bus or minibus heading towards the outskirts of Macas, specifically one that goes to the area around Mirador del Quilamo. Once on the bus, ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Mirador del Quilamo. After disembarking, you may need to walk approximately 1 kilometer uphill or ask locals for directions to the trailhead. Follow the trail signs to the observation deck, which should take around 30-40 minutes of hiking.
