Car
If you are driving from Mindo, head south on the E28 road towards Quito. After approximately 20 kilometers, you will reach the intersection with the road leading to the Reserva Puyucunapi. Turn left onto the dirt road and continue for about 2 kilometers until you see the entrance to the reserve on your right.
Public Transportation
To reach Reserva Puyucunapi using public transport, start by taking a bus from Mindo to Quito. Once in Quito, transfer to a bus that heads towards the town of Nanegalito. Upon reaching Nanegalito, you can either take a taxi or contact local guides who provide transportation directly to the reserve. Expect to pay around $1-2 for the bus fare and an additional $10-15 for the taxi ride to the reserve.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and are near the reserve, you can hike from Mindo to Reserva Puyucunapi. This would take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Follow the signs towards the E28 road, then navigate through the forest trails leading towards the reserve. Ensure you have a map or a guide, as the trails can be unmarked and challenging.
